Precision Surfacing Incorporated was started by its owner, Matthew Brown. Matt has been in the construction business since 1985, building custom homes in northern California. In 1995 he was introduced to the newest version of synthetic turf, replacing the old Astroturf. Matt jumped into this new style of synthetic turf at its inception and was involved in the installation one of the first synthetic turf fields in the United States in 1996.
For several years he continued to work in his custom home construction business and part time in the slowly growing synthetic turf industry. He was constantly looking for better and more efficient ways to perfect the installation process. Through his diligence, PSI has become one of the most highly in demand turf installation companies in CA.
In 1997, he performed his first under-field drainage system at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, WA. Since that first project, he has perfected the excavation, under-field drain systems and the finish laser grading and has been contracted by some of the largest construction companies in CA.
Today, PSI has several crews installing synthetic turf athletic field, playgrounds, commercial and residential installations. With well over a hundred installations throughout the west coast, we are experts in the synthetic turf business, including many different types of turf products. With 30 year's experience in the construction industry, 22 years as a general contractor, and 14 years in the synthetic turf industry, Matt currently holds the following construction licenses: A-General engineering, B-Building, D-12-Synthetic Surfacing.
